I am Bill Smith and I am an investigative reporter.

 

I guess you have seen the headlines too. About all these operators that are increasing their revenues so much. I keep wondering why they can’t find anybody who knows anything about how they do it.

 

I’m also thinking about the other operators, those who are not that fortunate. Shouldn’t everybody be entitled to the same kind of success?


It is quite obvious that the lucky ones are using some kind of clever solution to achieve the results. But I have asked my sources about this. They don’t know anything about any solution. They don’t know anything about any supplier either. No one seems to know anything about this, apart from the fact that the operators are doing great. Why?

The mystery movie

Remember I got that lead earlier about the interconnect-billing-solution? The neighbour to the operator in New Dehli came up with another interesting term: revenue assurance. According to the neighbour, the operator spoke about this very casually, like everyone should know what it meant.

 

From what I understand it has to do with minimizing losses. I’ll ask around. No information about the supplier though.


 You should have seen the operators house. Amazing! He must be doing really, really well. The neighbour told me they are planning to do even more with it.

 

Today, I’m presenting a film about this case. It’s compiled from material I’ve been collecting during my trips around the world in search for answers.

Another outstanding solution. But no lead.

I spoke to the operator. She was nice but of course she wouldn’t let me in on anything. All she said was: she had an outstanding solution – and a competitive advantage. Nothing more.


So what do we know about the supplier so far?
- They are a global company
- They are fast
- They obviously have great solutions for inter-operator billing, roaming billing and revenue assurance
- At least one representative speaks with some kind of accent and loves coffee

Who’s Roy Stewart?

Got stuck on the Penang Bridge on the way to George Town. I hate bridges. Especially this one. It’s just too long. Turned out to be pain in vain too. One of the fraudsters old ”friends” was supposed to ”work within transports” in George Town.

 

Sure he did. But when I finally found him he didn’t even stop for a talk.

 

However, he did scream at me: Try Roy Stewart at the camel races in Jordan.

Help!

Depressed in Paris. Room 476. Hotel Britannique. I have notes, maps, tapes, pictures, letters, mails, articles, dvd’s, printed interviews spread all over my hotel room – on the floor, on the bed, on the window, in the bathtub, in the closet.


But even with all this evidence in I can’t solve the case. I know I have all the pieces. But I can’t put the puzzle together. I’m stuck. I feel like a useless investigative reporter.

 

What am I missing here?
